The Amethyst room, on the
second floor of the farmhouse, faces northwest to Back River,
with a sweeping view of the river and the cove at the bottom of
the property. The northwest-facing windows also look out over the
back porch, towards the apple orchard and the freshwater pond. Spring
and Summer nights, the air is filled with the sound of peepers
and frogs. This room is furnished
with a full-sized California Oak antique bed which is so high
one has to 'climb' into bed. It is accessorized with a step
stool! It has a matching oak high-boy dresser, and a private
bath with a tub/shower. The room is decorated in the rich
purple of the amethyst throughout. Floors are wide, rustic oak.
